Chief Executive Officer
John McKillop was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Hassad Australia in February 2016 with responsibility for the oversight and management of the business. He has over 25 years’ experience in the agricultural sector in various roles including Managing Director of Clyde Agriculture and senior roles with AgCAP, Elders, Stanbroke Pastoral Company and Grainco.
John currently a Director of Dairy Australia, Marcus Oldham Agricultural College and a former director of Meat & Livestock Australia and the Primary Industries Education Foundation.
John holds a Diploma in Farm Management, Bachelor of Business, Graduate Certificate in Agribusiness, Masters in Business Administration and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Alex Hayley is responsible for all financial and IT aspects of Hassad’s Australian operations. He is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia.
Alex’s career started in chartered accounting and included 10 years with Ernst and Young in their Melbourne and London offices. Alex was involved in audit and corporate advisory services advising clients in the manufacturing and agribusiness industries.
Alex has since held senior finance and operational positions in a variety of sectors including engineering, shipping, telecommunications, agribusiness and FMCG.
Alex’s key areas of expertise include development of corporate skills and systems to support an organisations achievement of its strategic goals.
Chief Operating Officer
Shane commenced work with Hassad Australia in 2011 and has held several management positions including the Operations Manager Grains, General Manager Operations and now as Chief Operating Officer. In the initial period with Hassad, Shane was responsible for the identifiable and assessment of regions and properties that would fit the strategy.
Shane’s key function as COO role is to create a culture of innovation, enthusiasm and business acumen within the group of farm managers to deliver the optimum level of economic efficiency for Hassad Australia.
A key focus of this role is in developing and implementing sustainable farming and grazing systems across the Hassad Australia properties, to ensure the company remains a low cost producer of high quality products.
Shane holds a Bachelor of Rural Science (Hons) from the University of New England.
